"A 3-RING SHARKUS"
Sponsored by Compaq Computer Corporation.
I painted this 6 foot long fiberglass shark with 15 coats of interference paint.
It created a shell around the shark and the appearance is opalescent.
It's quite interesting.
He is mounted on a surfboard that is painted to represent water. A net is painted floating lazily on the water.
This all represents "THE CIRCUS OF SURFING THE NET". The 3 rings around the shark represents the hoops employees go through to keep their jobs,
get stock options and high salaries,
and to keep abreast of what's happening in Silicon Valley.
The entire mindset in this valley is represented here by this 3-RING SHARKUS!

"CYBER SKI BUM"

Another View of Cyber Ski Bum
This shark was also sponsored by Compaq Computer Corporation.
Cyber Ski Bum represents the fact that high tech work and fun can come together in one job.
The collaged shark is filled with witty wording. It's very humorous and at the same time pertinent to today's high tech work atmosphere.
Each fin sports an expensive watch, you'll find artichokes, cartoons, sporting events, fancy cards, high tech wording and lots more.
A lot has changed in Silicon Valley since the stock market plunged. The idea on this shark is that with the income and excitement a career in high tech affords one can "Have It All."

"BANNERS FOR DOWNTOWN TAVARES PUBLIC ART PROGRAM"
These banners are for a program to familiarize people with "What is good about Tavares, Florida".
This first one highlights the Antique & Classic Boat Society.
Each Third Weekend in March hundreds of antique boat owners come to show and compete for prizes in many categories.
It is an event that brings hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the country to our small town.
If you click on the link it will take you to the website for the Sunnyland chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society
The flags hanging on the edge of the banner spell out Tavares as they go down the banner.
The Frog is on the flip side of the Antique Boat Banner.
These banners will hang from light posts during September and October of 2008. Then, in December, they will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go for Art projects.
Eustis and Mount Dora, neighboring towns, are all participating in this program. I did a banner for both Tavares and Mount Dora.
Here is the one for Mount Dora
It highlights the fact that our local theatre (called the ICE HOUSE since the building was indeed an ice house at one time) is celebrating it's 60th year in 2008.
The tickets for each show are hanging from the banner.
The flip side of this banner is a woman calling to us to stop and smell the roses. We have a beautiful city here and many many people each year do just that.
